Adelaide Open Day is coming up on Sunday 20, August and you won’t want to miss it!
We are proud to have Adelaide based creative Leigh Hyland the creator of Steamkittens presenting. He is a digital media artist/creative photographer who works with cosplay artists from all over the world. In 2016, he was lucky enough to work with international artists Abby Darkstar and Yaya Han and proudly has two pieces featured in Yayas Calendar 2016 as well as a piece exhibited in the Finnish Museum of Games.
Internationally renowned for his illustrative storytelling aesthetics, Leigh achieves through a combination of dramatic lighting setups and photographic style combined with his love of augmenting his photos in Adobe Photoshop post-production. He describes his work as “a depiction of a character rather than a glamorous portrait of someone is a costume”.
Leigh spends time campaigning for animal welfare where his photographic journey began, volunteering for the RSPCA where the name Steamkittens is derived from. Leigh has maintained a creative career path, graduated his studies in graphic design and developing a career in new media, web and online learning. Always passionate about pushing the limits of Adobe Photoshop photography was a natural progression. He started photographing cosplayers in 2013 as a way to improve his photography and lighting skills while combining his childhood passion for sci-fi and fantasy.
Leigh will be speaking at 12pm at Torrens University Open Day, Adelaide Campus for potential students who want inspiration into all into the possibilities of creative career.
