What’s a “Day In The Life workshop” like?

Day In The Life workshop | Torrens Uni

A Day In The Life workshop is the perfect opportunity for High School students wanting to see where a career in business can take them. Visit industries related to your degree in events, sports or marketing, and hear from passionate presenters on how their university degree landed them the job they’re in today.

Current business students Brandon and Sally explain why it’s so important you register for this event, today!

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO ATTEND A DAY IN THE LIFE WORKSHOP?

My school suggested students who were interested in studying business to attend this free workshop so I signed up with a few of my classmates. I was interested in Sports Management, and they were interested in Communications, Marketing and Event Management. Attending the Business workshop allowed us to gain an insight into how professionals conducted business, their career paths, what they studied to get to their roles today, and how Torrens’ students fit into this. We learnt that all bachelor students get the opportunity to undertake 400 hours of industry experience before they graduate, which gives them a competitive edge against other students in the marketplace.

WHY CHOOSE A BUSINESS RELATED DEGREE?

I’ve always wanted to start my own business, so an entrepreneurial venture meant I needed the fundamental business skills of communications, marketing, finance, strategy, etc. to do so. I also had a keen interest in sports throughout school, so decided to specialise in Sports Management. Business degrees can be studied online and on campus, which gives you great flexibility for travelling and working full-time. Every day at Torrens University I learn new things about business, entrepreneurship and leadership.
