Torrens University student Grant Pearson is one of three Laureate Australia students who have been selected to attend the upcoming World of Business Ideas (WOBI) conference in Mexico City at the end of June.
Grant, who is currently studying a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at our Wakefield campus, was chosen from a pool of 50 applicants to attend the event, which will present some of the world’s most inspirational speakers on the Power of Purpose.
Along with two other students selected by Laureate International Universities, Grant will be flown to the event where he will hear from some of the world’s greatest thinkers, meet Laureate peers from across the globe and gain valuable experience in thought leadership.
Grant wrote the following winning entry on the power of purpose:
“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why. — Mark Twain. Purpose provides focus, passion and conviction. It’s informs decision making, risk taking and career growth. It’s your calling; it anchors you and makes you unique. My involvement in Aboriginal issues and being a White Ribbon Ambassador is about me purposefully challenging racism and violence.”
Given the huge number of students who participated in the competition, our Executive Team decided to extend the prize pool. As a runners-up prize, the following students were given the chance to attend the Rare Birds Con in Sydney.
