Torrens University Australia took another bold step in its nascence on Wednesday with the launch of a new partnership with the Real Madrid Graduate School.
Held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, the event was to announce the addition of a new Master of Business Administration in Sports Development to be delivered by Torrens in conjunction with the Real Madrid Graduate School. This online-only course is sure to attract the attention of students seeking to combine both professional ambitions and a love affair with ‘the world game’.
As a part of Universidad Europea (also member of Laureate International Universities), the Real Madrid Graduate School is just one arm of the Real Madrid brand. Aside from being one of Forbes’s most valuable sporting clubs, Real Madrid is also an example of a profitable business model with several income streams that have all demonstrated steady growth over the years.
Special guests Pedro Lopez Jimenez, Vice President of Real Madrid Football Club, and former Real Madrid star Emilio Butragueño, now CEO of Real Madrid Graduate School, both shared insightful presentations on the history, philosophy, growth and financial outlook of Real Madrid as a sporting team, brand and educator.
Laureate Australia CEO Linda Brown and Torrens Vice Chancellor Justin Beilby both spoke enthusiastically about this new partnership, with Justin barely able to contain his inner sports fan. Several CEOs from some of Sydney’s major sporting clubs, as well as Year 12 students from Kogarah High School, were also in attendance.
