Design career talks with Billy Blue

Design career talks

Design Career Talks - turn your passion into a career.

Last Tuesday (25 May), the Design and Creative Technology Marketing Team hosted a Design Career Talks info evening at our Ultimo campus and streamed online. The event was an opportunity for prospective students to hear first-hand what a career in interior design, communication and graphic design or photography could be like.

Five inspiring alumni shared their study experiences and their journey into their respective careers. Guests also had the opportunity to explore award-winning artwork by our students and talk with our knowledgeable Future Student Advisors. Watch the full live stream below.

During the event, Milly Mead, an Alumni from 2019 and now a freelance photographer and videographer, shared a very sage piece of advice with prospective students.

"Take advantage of the opportunities your lecturers and success coaches put in front of you. Say yes to everything. If you do a good job and turn up with a smile on your face and you’re confident… your number gets out and you’ll build a network which is so important."

Has the idea of a career in design been quietly sitting there, popping into the fore from time to time? Do you sigh when you see amazing designs, spaces or photography and just wish this was your job? Well you're in luck, check out our design and creative technology courses.

Our thanks to our alumni, Milly Mead, Taylore Cope Wallace, Briellyn Turton, Imogen Frost, Dean van der Merwe, for their involvement in this fantastic event.
