We say thank you to every member of our academic staff, and to every member of staff who, directly or indirectly, support our academic team, or create experiences which enhance the academic journey of our students.

World Teachers’ Day is celebrated in more than 100 countries worldwide and was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in 1994 to recognise the role of teachers in society. Important to note, in this instance, UNESCO define teachers as those supporting every stage of the academic journey from the early years through to adult learning, including vocational and higher education.
70 years ago, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was created by the United Nations. There are two elements of this Declaration that are important to reflect on today
• “Everyone has the right to education”
• “Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further promote the maintenance of peace”
No matter what your role is with us in New Zealand or Australia, you have made the decision to support the education of many thousands of students here, and over a million across our global network. Yes, we operate a business which brings a series of tough commercial realities, however, we have no business unless we offer the highest quality education to every one of our students – and this is not possible without you.
One of the promises we make to both prospective and current students is that if you study with us we will help you pursue a career where you Love What You Do. This is something made possible by the staff who are teaching our students each day, however, it is not something we can deliver for others if we don’t all believe, and model, this ourselves.
We know there are many great places each of you can work. Education is a growing industry around the world, and talented, committed staff are always in-demand. We thank you for choosing to work here with us at LANZ. We are grateful for your passion, integrity and commitment, and we know this enables each of our students to be successful learners both with us, and well into their unique careers.
So, once again, we say thank you.
