The Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School at Torrens University Australia (BMIHMS) is thrilled to welcome senior leaders from across India, Singapore, Dubai and China to discuss how their destination and hotels are planning for a busy and exciting 2022 in our Global Perspectives Series.

After graduating from BMIHMS in 2000, Amit’s impressive career has taken him around the world to countries, including the USA, India and more. His passion has also seen him awarded the “Most Enterprising Hospitality Professional” from the India and North India Travel Award publication. Amit brings a wealth of knowledge across the hospitality sector, specialising in revenue management, sales and marketing strategies and more. 

Episode 2: Sophie Mougel, Head of Development Planning & Performance IHG, BMIHMS Alumna

Sophie Mougel
Hear from hospitality industry leader Sophie on why regions across Asia expect a boom in demand. 

Sophie discovered her passion for hospitality at BMIHMS and has now gone on to have an exciting career spanning 20 years. In her current role, Sophie leads a team of experts in Singapore overseeing short-term and long-term business development and growth strategies. She brings with her a wealth of insights into regions across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. 

Episode 3: Lena Willoughby, Cluster Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development Manager Marriott UAE, BMIHMS Alumna

Through Lena's expertise in customer experience, we’ll gain fascinating insights into the Dubai hospitality landscape.  

Lena’s career in hospitality kickstarted in 2002 in North Queensland on Daydream Island. Since then, she has uprooted and moved to Dubai to work with Marriott International overseeing 6 hotels in her portfolio.

Learn about what’s ahead for the Indonesian hospitality industry with expert guest speaker, Gaylord Lamy. 

Gaylord is a passionate advocate for the next generation of hospitality leaders. As the General Manager of The Langham in Jakarta, Gaylord is one of the industry’s heavy weights with his career taking him around the world to places like Hong Kong, Chicago and now Jakarta. His experience allows him to bring wholistic insights into the world of hotel operations.

Discover the booming hospitality industry in China with special guest speaker, Mark Foxwell.
A 25-year veteran with Hyatt Hotels  & Resorts, Mark joined Hyatt in 1996 in his hometown of Adelaide in South Australia. Since then, he has had stints in a number of key Asia Pacific cities, including Melbourne, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Osaka, Hangzhou and most recently in his current role as General Manager of Hyatt on The Bund Shanghai for the last 4 years. Passionate about the People , Customer experience and business strategy, his international experience across China and the Asia Pacific Region allows him to bring a strategic insight into the market and what is to come for the region.
