Love Your Story: Russell Ponting

Russell Ponting’s journey kicks off as a 1980’s goth punk existentialist skateboard ramp builder in Mt Eliza. Philosophy and Feminist studies, chaperoning acclaimed skateboarder Tony Hawk and Robbie Williams in white roller skates all play a role in his career as a “yes” man.

The more times he said “yes” the more opportunities he had to say yes. Now having transitioned into education and shaking off imposter syndrome, Russell is the Program Director Bachelor of Branded Fashion Design at Billy Blue College of Design at Torrens University. He passes on these gems and more and relishes the opportunity to watch his students’ success when mixed with a bit of serendipity and a bit of luck.
