Joshua Robinson, Media Design School 3D Animation and Visual Effects student, headed to show his short animation short film “Home” in Toronto at the world’s largest indigenous film festival – ImagineNATIVE.

“Home” is a powerful animation film highlighting family violence, poverty, and mental health and he’s striking a chord with audience members, which was an unexpected part of his own personal journey.

We caught up with the Maori Filmmaker after his quick trip to Canada to discuss his experience, networking, cultural similarities with Aotearoa and what’s on the cards next as he continues his Bachelor of Art & Design studies.
