I’ve recently joined the SRC at Torrens and helped organise the first student barbeque of the year on Wednesday 16 March to welcome new students and farewell Bachelor of Media Design students who are going on placement in Japan and Thailand. We were delighted by the turnout and all were able to make new friends!
I had the pleasure of connecting with the SRC for the first time (at least the Wakefield Campus Team!), they are Madeline, Micah, Dele and Agness.
Here’s a little introduction to the SRC:
- Madeline, the Chair of the SRC is a second year Bachelor of Applied Public Health student and she’s a great leader, very supportive and productive
- Micah is a pocket rocket, she’s an ambitious international student studying Bachelor of Commerce
- Dele has an interesting sense of humour and is very fun to be around
- Agness, is always laughing and really friendly
They have all made a wonderful impression on me, and I’m looking forward to working with the team closely this year.
As this was our first event of the year we were a little apprehensive about attendance but it turned out that everyone who was on campus that day came to enjoy the food and atmosphere. We served BBQ beef and chicken with salad and bread.
I was able to meet some of our first cohort of international students of the year from Africa, South America and Asia. It was great to see such a great diverse student body on campus.
The event was a real success with great food, new friends made and an overall great time! We hope to see you at another SRC event!
On behalf of the SRC team, we’d like to farewell the Bachelor of Media Design students travelling to Japan and Thailand for a six week placement, we hope you have memorable and educational experience.
See you next week!
