The Rocks campus is close to Sydney’s CBD and is easily accessible by train, light rail, bus and ferry. Circular Quay is the closest train station and only a five-minute walk to campus. If driving, please note there is no student parking on site, however secure parking is available nearby – see Parkopedia.com.au and Wilsonparking.com.au.

Kirsten Browne
Program Director, Hospitality, Tourism, Events and Culinary Management


Kirsten Browne has more than 20 years of international hospitality experience. After beginning her front-of-house experience in Japan, Kirsten transferred her skills to the hotel industry in a general manager role at Ibis in the UK and Sydney. Highly experienced in workplace training, Kirsten moved into hospitality management education and currently lends her expertise as an Undergraduate Program Director for higher education.

Darren is an experienced senior director who worked in the sport industry before moving to education. A former General Manager of Education for Surf Lifesaving Australia, Darren also served as CEO of Rowing Australia and was part of the Australian Paralympic Committee. Skilled in strategic planning, coaching and management, Darren delights in helping students and staff to reach greater heights.

Pro Vice-Chancellor, Business and Hospitality 

Gregory is a highly experienced executive, leader, consultant and academic. Greg has held a number of senior executive positions in the public and private sectors, including Senior Executive at the Queensland Department of Education and CEO of a licensed club. Greg has a doctorate in leadership development and has completed post-graduate qualifications in economics and learning and development.

Simon Pawson | Staff

Dr Simon Pawson
Associate Dean, Hospitality


Teaching for 15 years, Simon is an academic leader and researcher with two decades’ worth of experience in tourism. His areas of interest include business, marketing, strategic management, social/environmental justice and sustainable tourism. Simon has been an active researcher and social advocate in Cambodia since 2002 and is currently the Chief Academic at Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School at Torrens University Australia.
