What is a Diploma of Film and Video?

A Diploma of Film and Video Design introduces a range of fundamentals skills and knowledge found in film production. You will learn how to develop and take story concepts and bring them to life. As part of the course you will gain an understanding of screen-based video production and post-production, along with basic skills in cinematography, lighting, editing, colour grading and sound design.
As a film student you will put your theoretical learnings into practice as you work on real client projects, part of your work integrated learning subjects. This will allow you to immerse yourself in the industry throughout your studies. Throughout your subjects you will get hands-on with all the leading software being used in the industry including Adobe Premiere Pro as you prepare for your future career. Additionally, the cross-disciplinary nature of the course will expose you to areas such as motion design and photography, further expanding your skillset. Upon completion, this course gives you the opportunity to pathway into a variety of bachelor programs or prepare you for junior roles in the industry. Please note that some specialised subjects may be delivered online only.

This course comprises of two core subjects and ten specialisation subjects.

Each subject involves 10 hours of study per week, comprising three hours of facilitated study and seven hours self-directed study.
