Professor McLachlan, CHEF Research Director, will give his yearly update for the centre. Highlights will cover our ongoing research interest in rare diseases, cardiovascular disease, clinical sciences, and future plans for complementary, integrative medicine. The talk focuses on CHEF's incremental infrastructure expansion via smart collaborations around flagship scientific resources and our supportive scientific networks.

Professor Craig McLachlan is the Research Director of the Centre for Healthy Futures at Torrens University. He holds a PhD in Experimental Medicine and brings a multidisciplinary approach to his research, encompassing public health, pharmacology, physiology, and translational medicine, with a particular emphasis on cardiovascular medicine and technological innovation.
With a dedication to advocating for individuals affected by rare diseases, Professor McLachlan spearheads collaborative efforts in bioinformatics to uncover novel therapeutic targets with minimal toxicity profiles, enhancing patient care and treatment outcomes.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Professor McLachlan extends his expertise to various non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Nepal and Australia. He contributes his time and knowledge to generate impactful research opportunities and support the holistic patient journey.
