CSP and HECS-HELP
Commonwealth supported places (CSPs)
A Commonwealth supported place entails the Australian Government covering a portion of your tuition fees. This CSP portion is a subsidy, not a loan, and does not require repayment. The remaining portion of your tuition fees constitutes your student contribution amount. If you are granted a CSP, you may also be eligible for HECS-HELP to assist with paying your student contribution.
Am I eligible for CSP?
CSPs are available to individuals from diverse backgrounds and with various needs who want to study our Bachelor of Cybersecurity or Bachelor of Information Technology. A limited number of places are also offered for our diploma-level courses, as well as our Bachelor of Nursing.
These places are available to new domestic students who live in regional or remote areas, first-generation university students, First Nations students, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring financial support to pursue their aspirations.
At Torrens University, a separate application for a CSP is not required. Eligible students will be considered during the admission process. Our Future Student Advisors can assist you throughout the process and provide guidance on any necessary documentation. Contact us to see if you are eligible.
To learn more about CSPs, visit the Australian Government's Study Assist website.
HECS-HELP fee support
When you enrol in a university or an approved higher education provider and are granted a Commonwealth supported place (CSP), you may also be eligible for HECS-HELP to assist with your student contribution. HECS-HELP is a loan that requires repayment. It allows you to defer payment of your student contribution amount until your income surpasses the repayment thresholds.

Be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent humanitarian visa holder, or a New Zealand Special Category visa holder who meets the long-term residency requirements.
