Undergraduate study

An undergraduate course or degree introduces you to the foundational skills and knowledge of your field. Choose to study online, on campus or a blend of both to suit your lifestyle.

Different types of undergraduate courses

These courses are your entry point into an area of study.

Bachelor’s degree
The minimum requirement for many professional careers, and a prerequisite for a master’s degree. You may choose a major – an area of focus within your degree with elective units.
Associate degree
This is a short, practical undergraduate qualification that sits one level below a bachelor’s degree. Entry requirements tend to be lower and the time commitment shorter than a bachelor’s.
Diploma
This is a beginner-level qualification, with course content that tends to have a practical focus. It is a vocational qualification that can help you step straight into certain careers. Expect 12 months of full-time study, which you may be able to apply as credit towards a bachelor’s degree.
