Professional development

Supporting professional growth

Torrens University Australia is dedicated to supporting researchers in their endeavours, offering a wealth of resources and support to foster aspiration and achievement of excellence with integrity provided by the Research and Innovation Office (login required). In addition to university-wide professional development opportunities, such as a mentoring scheme and various resources provided by Learning & Development (login required), our approach to research professional development is thoroughly considered.

We align with the globally recognised VITAE Researcher Development Framework (RDF), ensuring our activities and resources are mapped accordingly to facilitate self-managed career development. Committed to aiding researchers at every career stage, the RDF caters to individuals at all levels, reinforcing our dedication to nurturing and advancing our researchers' careers.

To assist in aligning your professional development with these areas, we've created a Yearly Planner. This tool helps you self-assess your development needs against the opportunities we provide. Major activities featured include the University Research Seminar Series, Research and Innovation Week and the Higher Degree by Research Supervisor Community of Practice.
