Towards Patient-Specific Risk Prediction and Treatment Planning for Cardiovascular Disease
Presented by Mingzi Zhang, CHEF Research Fellow
Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases remain the leading causes of mortality worldwide. In this presentation, Dr. Zhang will present his research efforts aimed at improving risk assessment and treatment planning for these conditions.
He will discuss computational approaches for:
- Predicting aneurysm rupture risk
- Modelling the formation and progression of coronary plaques
- Assessing haemodynamic factors in spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD)
- Planning endovascular interventions through virtual stenting and blood flow simulations
Together, these studies highlight the potential of patient-specific modelling in advancing personalised cardiovascular care.
This session will cover Vitae Framework Domains:
- Domain A – Knowledge and intellectual abilities
- Domain D – Engagement, influence and impact
