5 reasons to attend Torrens Orientation Week

attend Torrens Orientation Week

It's critical to attend Orientation to familiarise yourself with your new study environment, hear from current students, ask questions and meet your classmates.

To the students who have just enrolled with us, welcome to the family!

We can’t wait to meet you. Life as a Torrens University student is so much fun, you’re going to love it here. As you are already aware, O-Week is next week. It’s extremely important that you attend Orientation so you are extra prepared to make your first trimester as smooth as possible.

Here are the 5 reasons why you can’t miss out:

1. Meet your lecturers and classmates

The first week of Uni is the best time to meet your soon-to-be lecturers and become acquainted with your fellow classmates. Everyone is going to be overwhelmed and excited and nervous, just like you. This is the best time to reach out, introduce yourself and make friends. Things will get busy and people will have less time after this so don’t miss your chance to socialize and network. The people you meet at University will be your friends for life, this is where the story begins!

2. Familiarise yourself with campus facilities

Come and see the campus so you know exactly where everything is. That way, when school starts, you can casually get to your class without running around frantically asking strangers for directions. Instead, you will get to school calm and zen because you will already know your way around like a pro.

3. Discover your student support teams

At Torrens, our students are supported every step of the way. We’ve got Student Services, Success Coaches, counsellors, and much more.
Pro tip: take advantage of your dedicated success coach – this is an amazing service that becomes very expensive when you aren’t in University. These coaches work in the industry and have been where you are. Their advice and support is an invaluable service.

4. Get your student ID card & learn all about the Library login

Let’s be honest, the admin stuff is never fun. Come and sort your stuff out now so that it’s done and out of the way.

5. Enjoy free drinks and food

Not sure if this needs any further convincing, I mean, who says NO to free food and drinks?!
