Torrens University Australia Extends Adelaide Oval Partnership

Torrens University has renewed its partnership with Adelaide Oval

Torrens University is thrilled to continue its partnership with Adelaide Oval as a preferred education provider.

Torrens University is excited to announce the renewal of our long standing and valued partnership with Adelaide Oval.

Torrens University first partnered with Adelaide Oval in 2018, and we are looking forward to the next chapter of our partnership.

Continuing as the education partner for the Adelaide Oval education program, Torrens University has contributed to a co-branded education hub, located in the Riverbank Stand, which offers unique experiences for students at all stages of education – from primary school through to leadership programs.

Gain practical experience at iconic sporting venue

As part of the ongoing partnership, Adelaide Oval will support students with industry placements in media, hospitality, tourism, marketing, events, business and operations.  This provides an exciting opportunity for students to gain practical experience at one of Australia’s most iconic venues.

Torrens University’s Vice Chancellor Professor Alwyn Louw said Torrens University is proud to be partnering with Adelaide Oval as a preferred education provider.

“Having the education hub as part of our students applied learning, is a valuable experience,” Professor Louw said.

“The extensive industry placement opportunities for our students will enable students to learn and develop many skills that will be transferable into their future careers.”

Students in Adelaide studying with the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School will also be able to complete the applied learning component of their courses through the partnership. The applied learning is taught in the education hub, with students given the opportunity to extend their learning to live events, function set up, bar facilities and hosting pop up restaurants during their course.

Supporting the growth and development of Adelaide Oval’s employees

Torrens University will also support Adelaide Oval’s employees in their growth and development, with opportunities to study short courses, undergraduate and post graduate courses.

Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority’s Chief Operating Officer, Adam Vonthethoff, who has completed a Master of Business Administration at Torrens University, said Adelaide Oval was thrilled to provide applied learning facilities for both its employees and students at Torrens University.

“It is exciting to continue this partnership with Torrens University. The ability to also offer our staff the opportunity to enter, upskill or extend their own education, under the mentorship of the staff at Torrens University, is something I am personally passionate about. It is invaluable to the future of recruitment and succession planning at Adelaide Oval,” he said.

Professor Louw said the partnership would equip employees at Adelaide Oval with the skills and knowledge they needed to take the next steps in their careers.

“The partnership allows Adelaide Oval staff to pursue quality education, and to grow and development, both professionally and personally, during their employment at Adelaide Oval,” he said.

“This partnership is a practical example of the necessity and ultimate value of creative partnerships between industry and higher education and our commitment to playing a productive role in the future development of our community toward common goals through quality education and partnerships.”
