Creative and innovative online game, Career Crush, wins Mumbrella award for Best Use of User Experience category.

We are thrilled to announce that Torrens University has won a Mumbrella Award for Career Crush, in the Best Use of User Experience category.

Industry recognition of outstanding user experience

The Mumbrella Awards, which have been running since 2010, celebrate the best work and talent across the marketing, advertising, media, production, PR, and communications sectors. The winners for the prestigious awards were announced at a virtual ceremony yesterday afternoon.

Career Crush, a creative and innovative online game, was created in 2020 to provide high school students guidance in their career pathway. When the pandemic hit, and high school students were missing out on face-to-face careers advice, our brand and marketing teams developed Career Crush as an alternative so students could explore their future careers and aspirations.

Addressing challenges through creativity and innovation

Upon hearing the news, Jerome Casteigt, Chief Commercial Officer, was elated and described Career Crush as an incredibly smart, beautifully designed and well executed project.

"It managed to address a real challenge for young people - knowing which career is suited to their personality and what they are good at - in a fun and instructive way. The strong design elements, colour, music and gamification allowed the campaign to go viral with a huge pick up on social media including influencers," said Jerome.

"Winning this award ahead of the likes of CommBank, LaTrobe and Minecraft, is a huge testament to the talent of our people - and is a well deserved recognition of how innovative we can be. When we meet a challenge or problem, we think out of the box and don't just go to the simple solution. It reflects our commitment to delivering real solutions for our students."

Billy Blue College of Design at Torrens University was also nominated for its 'Start Your Adventure' Augmented Reality initiative in the Best Use of Experiential Marketing category - which is also a fantastic achievement to be celebrated.

We are just so proud of the great work our marketing and creative teams are doing to represent Torrens University on the national stage.
