The 2022-2023 Impact Report reflects the university’s mission to connect the world for good, using the power of education to create the next generation of changemakers, leaders and disruptors.
CEO and President, Torrens Global Education, Linda Brown, said the university was built on a belief that profit and purpose aren’t mutually exclusive.
“We are proud to be the only university in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand to be a Certified B Corporation and part of the community of over 6000+ Certified B Corps globally who have one unifying goal: to redefine success in business,” said Ms Brown.
“We have continued to grow our impact in remarkable and tangible ways, surpassing our boldest aspirations, and we have proven that private investment in higher education has a place and purpose.”
The university has an ambitious outlook as it strives to accelerate its purpose of making higher education more accessible and affordable.
“We live beyond an output era, we are living in an impact environment,” said Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alwyn Louw.
“We are educating global graduates who have an intrinsic sense of social responsibility, this ensures that our fingerprint expands beyond the realm of higher education into the communities in which we live and work,” said Professor Louw.
Ms Brown said it was imperative that Torrens University Australia lead the courageous conversations needed to shape the future of the higher education sector.
“The higher education sector as a whole is considering how the sector needs to pivot and adapt to meet the rapidly changing needs of the domestic and global economies,” she said.
“We have the opportunity to be at the forefront of that change and champion the role that private education intuitions like ours can play in delivering genuine universal access to education, ensuring equity and delivering the skills people need for the jobs of today and tomorrow.”
