Walking distance to Central Station, our Ultimo campus is situated next to the innovative Central Park precinct, and nearby Broadway Shopping Centre. Inside our converted warehouse, you’ll find industry-level photography, sound and design studios. With an on-site café and student kitchen too, there’s everything you need to study comfortably and creatively.

Ultimo is conveniently located near Sydney hotspots, including Darling Harbour and Chinatown. Getting to our campus is easy: Broadway Shopping Centre bus stop is a two-minute walk away, Central Station is 15-minute walk and Central and Glebe light rail stops are a 15–20-minute walk away. If driving, street parking is available and there are two secure carparks nearby.

Professor Scott Thompson-Whiteside | Staff

Professor Scott Thompson-Whiteside
Executive Dean, Design and Creative Technology


Professor Scott Thompson-Whiteside is the Executive Dean, Design and Creative Technology and provides overall academic leadership to staff and students in the vertical. Scott has over 20 years of academic leadership in design across Europe, Asia and Australia with experience leading a number of programs, schools and faculties. Originally from the United Kingdom and trained as Industrial Designer, Scott soon moved into design management gaining a Masters degree in design leadership. He acquired his Phd from the Centre for Studies in Higher Education at the University of Melbourne. Scott is a strong advocate of internationalization, industry engaged teaching, high quality student outcomes and interdisciplinary research. Scott’s own research interests intersect the disciplines of design education, higher education policy, design strategy and innovation.

Robyn Latimer | Staff

Robyn Latimer, OAM
Associate Dean, Design and Creative Technology


Practising design in multiple sectors for over 25 years, Robyn is passionate about using design for ‘good and not evil’. She has owned a studio, directed a company, managed, and designed countless community projects and for the past 16 years has maintained a governance role at Tourette Syndrome Association of Australia – pro bono. Starting in magazines, advertising and establishing her area of expertise at HarperCollins, Robyn’s progression into education was natural. She advocates for equity of access to lifelong learning through online education, and attaches importance to global perspectives and transferable knowledge. She received a 2010 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award and Order of Australia Medal in 2018.
