Stephen Mckenzie head of psychology | Torrens University

Associate Professor Stephen McKenzie
Head of Psychology and Counselling


Stephen is a leading international expert in tertiary education, particularly in online education, and whole student success-based education.

Stephen was previously a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychological Sciences, University of Melbourne, where he developed a wide range of courses from micro certificate to Masters level, including wellbeing and mental health related courses. Prior to that Stephen was a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychological Sciences at Monash University, where he co-led the development, implementation and research-evidence based advances of the Graduate Diploma of Psychology Advanced (GDPA), which became the largest fourth year Psychology course in Australia. Stephen is passionate about helping Torrens Psychology and Counselling students achieve their best possible academic, professional, wellbeing, and life outcomes.
