What is Mental Health?

Mental health refers to a state of mental wellbeing that lets people cope with the stresses of life, learn and work well, become the best possible version of themselves and contribute to their community. Mental health is a basic human right, and it is a key part of overall health and wellbeing.

Good mental health is more than not having specific mental disorders. Instead, we can think of mental health as a continuum with countless different ways to experience wellbeing, distress and mental disorders.

Our Counselling, Community Services and Psychology courses will teach you to support the mental health of people from a range of demographics. Explore our mental health courses online or in person and discover a fulfilling career.
