Why diversity is an essential part of Torrens University's DNA

At Torrens University Australia, we believe that diversity enriches the educational experience of all students on campus and creates a diverse campus life.

With more than 11,000 international students, spanning more than 118 nationalities, diversity, equality and inclusion are essential components of Torrens University’s DNA.

A diverse community

We have created a diverse, integrated community where domestic and international students can study side by side, choosing from a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Business, Education, Hospitality, Design, Technology, Health, Project Management, Sports Management and English.
“Torrens University Australia, Think Education and Media Design School are very proud to have students from over 104 different nationalities across all of our faculties and our 17 locations. We are uniquely positioned as the world’s largest university network to leverage our footprint and become a truly internationalised university, both for the benefit of our international and domestic students.”

– Mark Falvo, Vice President, International.
Diversity is directly attributed to our university’s success and has helped to promote the university on a global scale. Our domestic and international students benefit significantly from daily engagement with people who are similar, and people who are different, providing the opportunity to bring new perspectives to classroom discussions.

A multicultural classroom

French student Lea Lecru chose to study an MBA at Torrens University in Sydney after completing a Bachelor of Marking in France and spending a year and a half living in the USA.
“Studying an MBA in Australia has been the best decision ever. It is motivating and challenging day after day, and is internationally-orientated, which is perfect for my future career. The course is very dynamic, and you have the opportunity to meet people from all around the world who impact your thinking in a positive way.”

– Lea Lecru
Our international students enjoy studying in progressive and professional learning environments in some of the most beautiful and sophisticated cities in Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Leura (in the Blue Mountains).

Yiru Huang is from Shenzhen in southern China and is currently studying an Associate Degree of Culinary Management at The Rocks campus in Sydney, which is centrally located and overlooks the beautiful Sydney Harbour and Opera House.

“Studying at Torrens University has given me the opportunity to work in the student-run restaurant William Blue Dining in Sydney. I have gained a lot of professional knowledge and skills and have really enjoyed working with the chefs and other team members. It has been fantastic to be able to work in a real kitchen and see what it will be like once I become a professional chef. Cooking new dishes, learning different methods and developing menus has all been really interesting.”
