At Torrens University Australia, we’re always excited to see our alumni achieve great things after they graduate. That’s especially true when it comes to our Natural Therapy people, who have gone on to great success as doctors, entrepreneurs and more.

Here are 10 shining stars from SSNT, Australia’s longest established natural therapies school, which became part of Torrens University in 2014. We present them to demonstrate some of the paths you can follow when working with natural therapies.

Lisa Hilbert

Course: Diploma of Applied Science (Naturopathy) now Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy)
As a naturopath and herbalist, Lisa shares her love of tea with the world, helping others incorporate wellness into their day. The founder of Tea Tonic is committed to using the highest quality, pure ingredients - organic plants and herbs that would cure ailments, promote good health and taste delicious. Charmaine Dennis

Course: Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy)
There are many elements to consider when you're expecting, and Charmaine is here to help through Fertile Ground, a natural medicine fertility clinic in Melbourne. She's the founding director of the clinic, which works to optimise your fertility, pregnancy, health and wellbeing.

Jules Galloway

Course: Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy)
Based in Byron Bay, Jules is doing good in the world. She helps women with fatigue and burnout to regain their health and improve their energy levels, volunteers in remote parts of Fiji to work on diabetes prevention....and has a great podcast, too.

Zoe Browning

Course: Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy)
Since her time with us, Zoe has built an empire of four clinics across Melbourne under the name Stable Health. She and her team offer a range of treatments, from naturopathy, physiotherapy, chiropractic, psychology, myotherapy, to remedial massage.

James Hancock

Course: Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy)
Working at the Good Life Clinic in Melbourne, James is a biochemist as well as a naturopath. He has a special interest in natural fertility and inflammatory bowel disease, and a very positive attitude to optimising biological age and potential.

Bridget Batty

Course: Bachelor of Health Science Naturopathy
Based in London, Bridget works as a senior clinician for Health Optimising UK, where her clinical interests include women's health and hormones, natural fertility, mental and emotional health, digestive disorders and general wellbeing.

Kate Smyth

Course: Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy)
An Olympian and sport enthusiast, Kate founded Athlete Sanctuary. It's an innovative sports naturopathy service which offers natural, effective and non-invasive treatment options - a holistic service tailored to athletes.

Judy Jacka

As you'd imagine, Judy Jacka played an important role in the development of SSNT and has quite a few laurels to her name. A true pioneer, Judy was principal from 1974 to 1985 and chairperson until 1996, creating a high standard in both medical and naturopathic sciences within the college. She has published several books and was vice-chairperson of the Jacka Foundation of Natural Therapies. Learn more about Judy's story here.

Dr Sue Evans

Regarded as Australia's leading herbalist, Sue taught with us for a number of years. She was part of team responsible for the development of the first Australian university course providing professional education for naturopaths.

Gill Stannard

Course: Diploma of Applied Science (Naturopathy) now Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy)
With almost 30 years' experience as a naturopath and mentor, Gill now works primarily online - balancing her clinical knowledge with research, tradition and common sense. She also runs a small in-person clinic in Sydney, and has special interests in cancer and menopause.
