Eligibility
To be eligible for the First Nations Research and Leadership scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person of Australia and be recognised by their community.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree with First Class or Second Class Division A (2A) Honours, or a Master's degree with strong performance in a relevant discipline.
- Meet the standard entry requirements for a Higher Degree by Research program.
- Commence full-time study in line with Torrens University's trimester start dates.
- Not be receiving other equivalent research university funding for general living costs and enrolment support.
How to apply
Expressions of Interest should be submitted to the HDR Centre via email HDR@torrens.edu.au, including the following documentation:

Preliminary research proposal (max. 6 pages): Clear outline of your proposed research, including aims, Indigenous-informed methodology, and significance in areas such as:
◦ Integrating First Nations medicinal practices and knowledge into health sciences curriculum
◦ Incorporating First Nations knowledge systems into research and knowledge creation
◦ Wellbeing and health through contemplative practices and Indigenous knowledge
◦ Cultural safety, reconciliation, creative practice, and Indigenous-led programs
◦ Integrating Indigenous knowledge into business and conservation efforts
◦ Exploring Indigenous entrepreneurship, highlighting cultural and community values in business success
◦ Other projects in health, business, or design that share cultural learning through holistic, generational, place-based approaches
