Dr Arezou PourMirza wins the 2024 MBAus Most Inspirational Lecturer Award

The MBA Australasia Awards, formerly known as the Graduate Management Awards, is a prestigious annual event that recognises outstanding achievements, innovation, and leadership in Master of Business Administration (MBA) education.

This marks the second consecutive year that Torrens University has been recognised, demonstrating how our students are being taught by industry-recognised professionals, which increases their employability. Dr Arezou PourMirza has been honored with the 2024 MBAus Most Inspirational Lecturer Award, alongside last year's winner, Associate Professor Heinz Herrmann.

Professor Greg Harper, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Business & Hospitality at Torrens University, expressed his pride in Dr PourMirza’s achievement: “We are thrilled to celebrate Dr Arezou PourMirza’s exceptional teaching abilities. MBA program creating impactful leaders

Dr PourMirza has over 20 years of professional experience, including 14 years in Australian academia. She says that Torrens University provides a unique, collaborative environment that helps students gain business acumen and advanced leadership skills - and connects them with C-suite executives.

“Our MBA program is designed to empower students to tackle real-world challenges and develop the skills necessary to become impactful leaders.

“The diverse experiences and perspectives our students bring to the classroom are truly inspiring, and it's incredibly rewarding to witness their growth as they navigate the program and become future business leaders.

Since joining Torrens University in 2019, Dr PourMirza has made a strong impact on the MBA program. In 2021, she became the first female academic in Australia to earn the MIT Advanced Certificate for Executives in Management, Innovation, and Technology.

Prior to her academic career, Dr PourMirza held key positions in product development, marketing, and business analytics management, collaborating extensively with domestic and international colleagues. This diverse background helps her to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in her teaching.
