President and CEO of Torrens University Australia Linda Brown and Australia's EY Entrepreneur of the Year™, has congratulated Gaston Taratuta, who was named EY World Entrepreneur of the Year ™, at an exclusive gala ceremony last night in Monaco.

Linda Brown was one of the 50 finalists for the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Award ™ and she described the journey so far as incredibly invigorating and enriching.

"Congratulations to Gaston Taratuta from Argentina, Founder and CEO of Aleph, who has been named EY World Entrepreneur of The Year™ 2022. Gaston has revolutionised digital advertising by providing a global platform for companies in emerging markets," Linda said.

"I'm extremely proud to have stood alongside the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year ™ Class of 2022, with its amazing country winners and finalists for the global competition. The incredible vision, determination, leadership, and commitment to the advancement of society among my fellow finalists have been incredibly inspiring. Even more amazing is how they work across such a broad range of industries and sectors with outstanding national and global achievements.

"Together, we are creating global change and opportunities, building a better working world and transforming lives. This is what a global movement is about, so congratulations to every one of you. It's been an honour to connect the story of Torrens University, Australia's fastest-growing university, into this global movement."

For the last 21 years, the illustrious EY Entrepreneur of the Year™ has celebrated the vision, insight, and influence of entrepreneurs from around the globe and recognised 'unstoppable' forward-thinking leaders who have successfully built dynamic, impactful businesses which reframe the future, created long-term value, and changed the world.

The program has recognised, among others, Atlassian founders Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar and Mecca founder Jo Horgan.
During the finalist week in Monaco, the finalists delved into an insightful program of activities and sessions. They explored topics including the world's next-generation entrepreneurs and the importance of personal and company branding.

They were challenged to think big about the UN Sustainable Development Goals, diversity, cybercrime and how the global entrepreneurial leaders could advance development in these areas in the future – to benefit societies globally.

"Being named EY Entrepreneur of the Year™ Australia and this trip to Monaco represent the peak of my entrepreneurial journey so far. I am returning with so many new connections and insights on the most crucial and imminent issues our current and future leaders must work together to solve," said Linda, reflecting on her time in Monaco.

"As a university with foundations built on industry connections and preparing students for careers globally – it's been an incredible opportunity to share experiences and build relationships with the best of the best."

Executive Chairman of the Board of Strategic Education Inc. (the owner of Torrens University Australia) Robert Silberman congratulated Linda on her journey, especially the impact she has created globally through Torrens University.

"To create Australia's newest university in 2013 from scratch with just 164 students and to build it into Australia's fastest-growing and Australia's international university with over 20,000 enrolments worldwide is a monumental feat. Being recognised as a finalist in this program is a testament to what Linda and her team have built," he said.

"What is most exciting is that Linda and the Torrens University team are just getting started. We have audacious goals to not only be the University of the Future but the go-to university providing equal access to quality education worldwide, in partnership with industry. We are excited for what the future holds for Torrens University and its growing global footprint".
