Women Initiative: Podcast Network – Exploring podcasting as an information source for managing ADHD in adult women
Podcasting is an increasingly important medium, having grown significantly in influence in the two decades since it emerged on the media landscape. Internationally, podcasts have been identified as a valuable tool for disseminating health-related information, but studies of listener perspectives about the relationship between them, hosts, and their condition awareness and management are rare.
This presentation will discuss the approach and early findings from a collaborative international study that is exploring the experiences and role of podcasting in awareness and support for podcast listeners who identify as women with ADHD.

Codesign of a revised and innovative version of the Assessment of Sexual Knowledge (ASK) to support the sexual wellbeing of people with neurodevelopmental disability
Access to, and provision of, sexual education and support are essential for promoting the health and wellbeing of people living with disability. However, health professionals report a lack of appropriate assessment tools that would support them in initiating the topic.
The Assessment of Sexual Knowledge (ASK) is a widely recognised and respected Australian tool for use with people with intellectual disability that the State of Victoria funded in the early 2000s. However, twenty years after the release of the ASK, it was identified that there is a demand to revise the ASK to ensure it is up-to-date, clinically useful, and sustainable.
Over the past three years, a working group of expert stakeholders has been investigating the necessary changes and how the project can be effectively conducted in partnership with individuals with lived experience of disability. This presentation will provide an overview of the research conducted during the investigative phase and outline our plans for the project's future.
This session covers all four domains of the 2010 Vitae Framework.
- Domain A – Knowledge & Intellectual Abilities
- Domain D3 – Engagement & Impact
