How Blockchain and NFTs Transform Fashion Industry

Explore HoMie's exclusive fashion collection with a 3D version collaboration with graduate, Ivica Gokchevski.

Fashion leaders love to take risks and create new experiences for their customers, and co-founder and creative director of HoMie Clothing, Marcus Crook, never shy’s away from a challenge. HoMie, a Billy Blue industry partner engaged with Saskia Fairfull, our Industry Consultant for a 3D Design and Animation student to be part of an exclusive fashion collection to launch at Melbourne Fashion Week.

Recent 3D Design and Animation graduate, Ivica Gokchevski, eagerly jumped at this opportunity to build his skills in digital fashion alongside a brand which sets out to help youths experiencing homelessness. Over the past few months, Marcus and Ivica have collaborated on the exclusive fashion collection with a 3D version of four pieces that are being minted into non-fungible tokens (NFTs). This is the way forward with technology and building momentum in the fashion industry on new experiences for shoppers and showcasing innovation.

“First of all, I am very thankful to Saskia, Marcus and the entire HoMie team who got me onboard with the project. I believe that combining two things about which you are truly enthusiastic can produce something even better. Creating the NFTs was really fun and exciting, especially figuring out the patterns from the flat lays which I used as guidance, then painting the whole look and finally the end result. I never imagined I could accomplish something so incredible, and I've received a lot of positive feedback as a result. Overall, this was an exciting opportunity that I got to experience and will do more in the near future," said Ivica Gokchevski.

"Working with Ivica was awesome from our perspective, his ability to turn flat lay garment photos into 3D digital form was truly incredible to see, the lighting the structure and the movement was all perfect. It’s exciting for us as a brand to work with Ivica and dip our toe into the world of digital fashion, there is huge opportunity for brands and digital artists moving forward," said Marcus Crook.

In true HoMie style, the collection was launched at Melbourne Fashion Week's Underground Runway Show in Melbourne's landmark, MCG. It was beyond the stadiums bright lights and for the first time ever the MCG's underground carpark was transformed into a unique showcase for street type and local well-respected designers like, HoMie.
