Course Overview

The Bachelor of Business Information Systems course focuses on the introduction and development of skills to prepare students for a career as an information system professional. Students will learn critical academic skills, and knowledge and applications of information systems across a variety of businesses.

What you will study

The Bachelor of Business Information Systems has a total of 240-credit points and consists of 16 core subjects. Six core subjects are at level 100, five at level 200 and five at level 300. There are also 8 elective subjects (80 credits), two at level 100, three at level 200 and three at level 300.

Year 12 or equivalent with ATAR 60 Applicants are eligible to be considered for a place in a Torrens University Australia undergraduate program if they have one of the following:
  • A completed higher education qualification at AQF level 5 (diploma) or above, or equivalent, from an Australian University or another accredited higher education provider
  • Successful completion of at least 1 EFTSL (equivalent full time student load, or one full year) of an AQF level 6 (Associate Degree) or above, or equivalent, from an Australian University or another accredited higher education provider
  • A completed vocational education qualification at AQF level 4 (Certificate IV) or above, or equivalent, from a registered training organisation (RTO)
Alternatively, if you don’t meet these qualifications, we have designed special entry requirements. You can enter via the Diploma of Business or you can gain entry into the Bachelors course by demonstrating the ability to undertake study at this level through work experience, and/or other formal, informal or non-formal study attempted and/or completed.
For international applicants, additional entry requirements of equivalent IELTS 6.0 (Academic) with no skills band less than 5.5
