What is English for Academic Purposes?

English for Academic Purposes will develop your English language skills and prepare you for university entry. This course is designed to help you adjust to university in Australia and equip you with the English proficiency and academic skills necessary to undertake a higher education degree.
We cover topics such as research skills, paraphrasing and summarising, referencing and academic integrity. There is continued focus on improving your skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as language development work. Key language areas

Each program requires 20 hours of classroom study per week. ELICOS students must attend 80% or more of scheduled contact hours within the study period.

Course fees can be paid across three study periods. Each instalment to be paid before the beginning of the academic stage census date.
