What is an Undergraduate Certificate in Nursing Study Foundations?
The Undergraduate Certificate in Nursing Study Foundations is designed for students who are new to university study or who may not yet meet the direct entry requirements for a Nursing degree. You’ll build foundational knowledge of nursing-related concepts, including human biology, health and illness, and the social factors that influence health outcomes, while developing the academic skills needed to succeed at university and progress to further study. This is a pathway program and does not lead to eligibility for registration as a nurse.Learning outcomes

- Analyse the influence of social determinants of health across diverse populations.
- Interpret and communicate evidence-based health information clearly, using appropriate professional terminology across written, verbal and digital formats.
- Apply foundational health-related knowledge to examine and respond to health and wellbeing needs in diverse populations within structured learning activities.
- Use feedback to inform learning, develop skills and improve emerging professional capability.
This is an AQF Level 5 course delivered by Torrens University Australia Ltd.
Subjects and units
Delivered online, the Undergraduate Certificate in Nursing Study Foundations comprises three core subjects and one elective subject. Each subject requires 10 hours of study per week; two hours facilitated and eight hours of independent study. Assessments may include activity-based assignments or online quizzes.
