Three Pillars Scholarship
Value: Up to 30% of your total tuition costs.
This scholarship is based on BMIHMS’ unique three-pillar approach to learning, which includes Professional and Personal Growth, Practical Skills Development, and Academic Achievement. It’s designed to ensure you graduate well-rounded, worldly, confident and prepared for a rewarding future.
Graduate Privileged Partner Scholarship
Value: Up to 20% of your total tuition costs
If you are currently employed as a permanent staff at one of BMIHMS’s Graduate Privileged Partners, you have the chance to apply for this scholarship, which will cover up to 20 per cent of your tuition fee. And as a scholarship recipient, you’ll be helping with additional duties during your time as a student, including becoming a member of the SRC, taking on student ambassadorial duties and being available for promotional opportunities.
Val Cook Scholarship
Value: Full tuition for year one of the Bachelor's degree
The Val Cook Scholarship, named after a BMIHMS long-term Alumni Ambassador and sponsored by the BMIHMS’s Alumni board, grants one student a scholarship that covers their tuition for the first year of their Bachelor course. Val spent a lifetime devoted to hospitality and hospitality education. He studied at the prestigious Westminster College London (1959-1960) before working in a number of high-profile restaurants and hotels in the UK, Australia and Korea including Grosvenor House London and the grand opening of the then ground-breaking Ayres House complex in Adelaide.
Val was a member of the founding team of BMIHMS in 1991 and over the years “Cookie”, as he became affectionately known, held many leadership positions. Val Cook passed away in 2017 and his legacy is remembered every year.
To receive the Val Cook scholarship is an honour in recognition of an exceptional and passionate candidate.
English Language Scholarship
Value: 10 weeks’ free tuition of the English language program
If you didn’t meet the English language entry requirements to study Hospitality with us, or if you simply want to improve your English skills, you can apply for the English Language scholarship. This will cover 10 weeks of your English language program tuition.
Accor Indigenous Scholarship
Value: Full tuition, room and board
BMIHMS at Torrens University Australia has partnered with AccorHotels to offer an Indigenous Scholarship. This is a unique opportunity for an Indigenous Australian who has proven their passion and dedication to the hospitality industry and are seeking formal qualifications to take their hotelier career to the next level.
This industry scholarship covers the first year of the Bachelor course: six months at the BMIHMS Leura campus and six months in industry placement. During the six months at Leura, BMIHMS will cover full tuition, food and board. AccorHotels will cover all reasonable travel expenses and will also guarantee casual work at the Fairmont Resort as appropriate in accordance with your Bachelor timetable and coursework. They’ll also coordinate your industry placement.
Industry Scholarship
Value: Up to 15% of your total tuition costs
If you’re currently employed full-time in Hospitality, you have the chance to apply for this scholarship, which will cover up to 15% of your tuition fees. This scholarship is made for those to further develop their career in an industry they are already passionate about.
Alumni Scholarship
Value: Up to 25% of your total tuition costs
As one of our illustrious BMIHMS or Torrens University Australia Alumni, you may apply for a scholarship, which will cover up to 25% of your tuition fees
Application criteria
Scholarships are awarded to students who have a strong passion for hospitality, exhibit the values of a future leader and are motivated to succeed both academically and in the industry. Recipients must be new BMIHMS at Torrens University Australia students commencing studies. Recipients must meet BMIHMS entry requirements. Applicants of the Val Cook scholarship must also have 2-5 years hospitality/tourism experience.
