Global Synergies in Business and Hospitality Research: Advancing International Collaborations.
Hosted by Professor Michelle Whitford, Executive Dean, Business & Hospitality and Professor Ros Cameron, Director of Centre for Organisational Change & Agility (COCA)

Seminar overview

In an era defined by global connectivity, international collaboration is no longer optional, it’s essential. This presentation brings together three academics to explore how cross-border partnerships are reshaping research in business and hospitality.

From redesigning assessments for a generative AI world to building bridges between Australia and Europe and hosting the Mixed Methods International Research Association (MMIRA) Global Conference in 2026, each initiative showcases the power of global synergies to drive innovation, enrich academic practice, and expand impact. Join us as we share insights, successes and future opportunities for advancing collaborative research across borders.

Vitae Framework

This presentation aligns strongly with the Vitae Researcher Development Framework, particularly within Domain D: Engagement, Influence and Impact. By showcasing international collaborations, hosting global conferences and addressing globally relevant challenges such as assessment redesign in the AI era, the session demonstrates how researchers can extend their influence beyond institutional boundaries. It also touches on Domain C: Research Governance and Organisation, through its emphasis on strategic partnerships and project leadership. The work reflects a commitment to advancing research that is globally connected, socially relevant and institutionally impactful.
