This course provides the foundation for all postgraduate Software Engineering specialisations such as Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Networking & Cybersecurity. You’ll focus on the knowledge required to design and implement advanced software engineering techniques and analyses designing, developing and using systems while employing well-informed software engineering methodologies.

You’ll explore models and architectural techniques to develop secure software engineered solutions and learn about platform constraints, version control and issue tracking. Project management and monitoring tools will enable real-time progress and issue tracking leading to efficient software development.

Subjects and units

Delivered both on campus and online, the Graduate Certificate of Software Engineering comprises of four core subjects, each subject requiring 10 hours of study per week; three hours facilitated and seven self-directed. Assessments may include activity-based assignments or online quizzes. There are no formal exams.
