If you are currently studying with us or a former student who has withdrawn or graduated, there are a number of academic documents you can request from Torrens University Australia.

Requesting academic documents

Academic documents can be received one of two ways:

Hard copy

Any hard copy documents will be posted to your preferred address as entered at the time of your request. We post to addresses both within Australia and overseas. Postage rates will be included at the time of your request.
Your request will be reviewed by the university and response time will be dependent on year of study.

Digital copy

If you order a document to be received digitally, it will be uploaded into the My eQuals platform and a user account will be created for you with the email address provided at the time of request. Learn more about the benefits of using My eQuals here.

Document types

The request portal is designed to allow you to request and pay for any of the following academic documents based on your current or former enrolment status.

  • Academic transcript
  • Statement of attainment
  • Completion letter
  • Testamur
  • Document cost

An academic transcript is a formal record of your studies at Torrens University Australia. Each course undertaken at Torrens University Australia will appear on a unique document.

This document includes:

  • All recorded final grades for each relevant study period
  • Any Course Credit or Recognition of Prior Learning attained
  • Grade point average
    • This will update at each request dependent on subjects undertaken and graded. GPA will only be final once you have completed your course.
    • Grade point average is only available for Higher Education students
  • Grade scale relevant to your course type, either Higher Education or Vocational Education & Training

Note: Before placing an order for an official academic transcript, please understand that only finalised grades will appear. This will not include grades for a study period that has yet to be completed.

If you place an order prior to result release, you will need to make an additional request once your results are released. See the Student Hub for results release information

A statement of attainment is a formal record of your units of competency studied at Torrens University Australia. A statement of attainment is available for Vocational Education & Training students only.

Each course undertaken at Torrens University Australia will appear on a unique document.

This document includes:

  • All recorded final outcomes for units of competency for your relevant course
  • Grade Scale relevant to your course type, either Higher Education or Vocational

Note: Before placing an order for an a statement of attainment, please understand that only finalised grades will appear. This will not include grades for a study period that has yet to be completed.

Once you have been approved as a graduand, you are eligible to receive a course completion letter. This will outline the following details of your enrolment:

  • Student details:
    • Full name
    • Student ID number
    • Date of birth
  • Course information:
    • Course code and name
    • CRICOS code (international only)
  • Location and study load
  • Language of delivery
  • Provider code and name
  • Grade point average
  • Course commencement and finish date
  • Course requirements met date

A testamur is the legal certification of a course that is presented to you upon conferral of an award from Torrens University Australia.

Higher Education students will be submitted for conferral and receive their testamur at a graduation ceremony, or via post if you opt to graduate in absentia.

Vocational Education & Training students will receive their testamur via post 30 days after approval from our Examination Committee.

Processing and receiving your documents

Current students
If you are currently undertaking study with Torrens University Australia and have yet to graduate, you are eligible to receive an academic transcript and statement of attainment (Vocational Only).
This will show all completed subjects or units of competency as part of your course.

Graduating students
Students are reviewed against the course rules by their Program Director. Once approved, you will automatically receive a completion letter and final academic transcript digitally via My eQuals.
For Higher Education students the physical copy of your testamur will be issued at your graduation ceremony, or posted to you if you elect to graduate in absentia.
Vocational Education & Training students will be posted their testamur 30 days after approval of the examination committee.

Former students
For students who have graduated or withdrawn from studies before January 2021, the length of time to source these documents from our archives will vary.
We will contact you if we are unable to source your records.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is My eQuals?
    My eQuals platform is used across both Australia and New Zealand to allow education providers to verify academic documents online for students and give them the ability to share and view their certified documents.
  • I need a document that is not on the request portal. How do I request one?
    If you require a confirmation of enrolment letter or other documents that are not listed on the portal, they can be provided by Student Services.
  • I have lost or damaged my documents, what are my options to request new ones?
    You can use the request portal to request a new copy of your:
    • Academic Transcript
    • Statement of Attainment (VET Only)
    • Completion Letter
    • Testamur
  • How can I get my academic documents verified by a third party?
    Documents on My eQuals can be shared with any third party of your choosing, including other providers, prospective employers and immigration for visa applications. Documents can be emailed using a secure link directly from the platform.
    All documents on My eQuals are automatically verified by Torrens University Australia. For more information, see here.
  • I already have a My eQuals account from another provider.
    You can link multiple My eQuals accounts together to access all documentation from prior studies. Once logged in, go to your profile settings and select education provider accounts and search for the relevant provider.
  • I have changed my name. How do I get updated documents?
    If you have changed your legal name since you have started studying or since you graduated and need your documents to be reissued, you will need to apply to change your contact details before submitting your request for documents. Submit a change of details form along with the relevant supporting documentation to Student Services. Once you have been notified that the change of name is approved, please submit your request for documents via the portal.
