Torrens University Australia has been named one of the top business schools for online MBA degrees in the world in CEO Magazine’s 2021 Global MBA Rankings, ranking 27th globally and one of the top Australian universities on the list.

Vice Chancellor of Torrens University Professor Alwyn Louw said the strong global ranking confirms Torrens University’s growing reputation as an international university and as one of the top online business schools in Australia.

“We offer several different and highly specialised MBA streams, including unique dual qualifications like the MBA/Masters of Public Health and the MBA/Masters of Project Management,” Professor Louw said.

“What really sets us apart from the pack is that we have developed a strong, industry-led curriculum, taught by some of the best and brightest minds from industry. This means our students are learning from people with current industry expertise and experience and really learning to change they way they think about doing business.”

“Our strength in online delivery has come to the fore during the Covid-19 pandemic, as we have built further on a cohort of students studying with us offshore online. We are proud of the quality of our programs and the ethos we bring to our teaching, fueled by our position as one of Australia’s leading B Corporations and as one of Australia’s most innovative companies.”

Torrens University’s Associate Dean of Business and Hospitality, Associate Professor Dipu Sebastian said flexibility in the delivery of MBA programs was key, with interest in and demand for online MBAs continuing to grow around the world.

“If we look at the USA alone, the Graduate Management Admission Council recently reported a 43 per cent upswing in applications in 2020, with intakes becoming as large and selective as on-campus options.”

Professor Louw said Torrens University has always been about choice for students.

“We deliver the same quality face-to-face and online, and we have seen online grow in popularity.

“COVID-19 has certainly played a part in this but it is also because people want the flexibility to manage further study around work and family commitments” he said.

“Our online MBA programs offer incredibly engaging and interactive classes, dual lecturers, one-on-one virtual meetings with lecturers and the opportunity to study and interact with students from around the world. This helps students build key business networks for the future and reflects the realities of doing business in our increasingly global and connected world.”

Associate Professor Dipu Sebastian said opportunities for work integrated learning and networking were an integral part of the MBA programs offered by Torrens University.

“We pride ourselves on producing graduates that are highly skilled and highly employable and we achieve this by offering our students opportunities to undertake live industry projects.

“For example, our MBA Innovation and Leadership includes three industry projects, while students studying the MBA (Sports Management), which is delivered in partnership with Real Madrid, have the opportunity to undertake an industry project in Spain. Our role as a leading B Corporation means we are aligned with global businesses who believe that profit and purpose can go hand in hand to ensure a better future, and this is ethos is critical in how we build a sense of community in our MBA cohort,” Associate Professor Dipu Sebastian said.

“It gives our MBA students a distinct edge when it comes to developing skills, networks and experience that they can take with them into the business world.”
