Torrens University Australia is proud to announce that Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) has reclaimed its position as Australia’s number one institution for Hospitality and Leisure Management in the 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject.
This builds on BMIHMS being ranked No.1 in Oceania, No. 3 in Asia and No. 21 globally.
This result marks a significant milestone for BMIHMS. It reinforces its reputation as the country’s leading specialist provider of hospitality education - recognised globally for immersive learning, industry excellence and strong graduate outcomes.
A standout year for specialist providers
In a competitive field, specialist institutions made a strong impact in this year’s QS rankings, with BMIHMS leading the way. Reclaiming the national top spot reflects the school’s continued commitment to delivering world-class hospitality education and preparing graduates for leadership roles in a rapidly evolving global industry.
A new chapter for BMIHMS
The QS recognition comes as BMIHMS embarks on a new phase of growth, with a series of initiatives designed to deepen student opportunity and continue the school’s connection to the Blue Mountains region.
These enhancements include enhanced curriculums with all undergraduate students completing one immersive trimester at the Leura campus, with remaining subjects delivered at the Surry Hills campus.
