Associate Dean - Business
Professor Michelle Whitford has over 20 years of experience leading innovative initiatives that prepare students for the workforce. An expert in Indigenous tourism and events, her work spans policy, sustainable development, and management.
Michelle has led significant projects for organisations like the Sustainable Tourism Cooperative Research Centre, the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Studies, Indigenous Business Australia and the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism and Tourism and Events Queensland, the National Environmental Science Program and numerous Australian Federal State and Local Government agencies. She serves as a Non-Executive Director of the Yugambeh Youth Aboriginal Corporation and co-leads the First Nations Tourism Council Research and Innovation Hub. In 2021, she received the QTIC Destination IQ, Pip and Charles Woodward Award.
