Prior experience has been gained as Director (Australian Institute of Sport Management, Australian Paralympic Committee), CEO or General Manager (Australian Paralympic Committee, Rowing Australia, Surf Lifesaving Australia), and Senior Management roles (Director, Campus Wellbeing and Engagement at Macquarie University), plus in customer service (Banking). Hobbies include sprint running and surfing.

Michelle Whitford
Associate Dean
Professor Michelle Whitford has over 20 years of experience leading innovative initiatives that prepare students for the workforce. An expert in Indigenous tourism and events, her work spans policy, sustainable development, and management. Michelle has led significant projects for organisations like the Sustainable Tourism Cooperative Research Centre, the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Studies, Indigenous Business Australia and the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism and Tourism and Events Queensland, the National Environmental Science Program and numerous Australian Federal State and Local Government agencies. She serves as a Non-Executive Director of the Yugambeh Youth Aboriginal Corporation and co-leads the First Nations Tourism Council Research and Innovation Hub. In 2021, she received the QTIC Destination IQ, Pip and Charles Woodward Award.
