Ranked in the National Top 10 for Undergraduate Teaching Quality and Top 4 for Postgraduate Skills Development in 2025 QILT Student Experience Survey

Torrens University Australia recorded significant gains across all six undergraduate measures in the 2025 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) Student Experience Survey (SES), strengthening its position among 43 Australian universities for teaching quality, skills development and student support.

The results show that Torrens University is:

• 6th nationally for undergraduate teaching quality, rising from 19th
• 7th nationally for postgraduate teaching quality, with 87% positive ratings
• Top four nationally for postgraduate skills development, achieving 88%
• Top four nationally for postgraduate peer engagement
• Above the national average for overall educational experience across both undergraduate and postgraduate study

The QILT Student Experience Survey is Australia's largest survey of current higher education students and measures key aspects of the student experience across the sector.

Vice-Chancellor and CEO Professor Aleks Subic said the results reflect the university's commitment to delivering a practical, industry-focused education that prepares students for successful careers.

“These results demonstrate the impact of an education model that is built around student success, industry relevance and real-world outcomes.”

Strong results across key study areas

At the undergraduate level:

• Psychology ranked 1st nationally for Teaching Quality, Skills Development and Quality of Educational Experience
• Social Work ranked 1st for Skills Development, 3rd for Student Support and Services and 4th for Teaching Quality
• Architecture and Built Environment ranked 3rd for Student Support and Services, 4th for Quality of Educational Experience and 5th for Teaching Quality, Business and Management ranked 5th for both Teaching Quality and Quality of Educational Experience

At the postgraduate level:

• Computing and Information Systems ranked 1st for Skills Development and Quality of Educational Experience, 2nd for Teaching Quality, 3rd for Student Support and Services and 5th for Peer Engagement
• Health Services and Support ranked 1st for Peer Engagement, 2nd for Student Support and Services, 3rd for Skills Development and 5th for Teaching Quality
• Teacher Education ranked 1st for Skills Development, 3rd for Teaching Quality and 5th for Quality of Educational Experience
• Humanities, Culture and Social Sciences ranked 4th for Skills Development
