He has also been involved in ARC Discovery on automated video surveillance systems and a number of industry-sponsored research projects related to face recognition and automated credit risk assessment, received more than $600,000 in homeland security research grants. As a prize-winning teacher and ardent learner, Tony thrives on interactions with students which is demonstrable in having supervised 6 PhD and 20 Masters students to completion.

Liam also works as an experimental digital artist producing award winning projects in fields such as post-production, 3D animation, virtual reality, interaction design, robotics, projection mapping, VJing, interactive public installation and is currently focusing on laser light installations.
