What is an Advanced Diploma of Game Design and Development?

An Advanced Diploma of Game Design and Development is where ideas become playable reality, building the core skills needed to start your career in the gaming industry. Built on three core pillars – asset production, game ideation and design and game project management – this course develops the creative, technical and collaborative expertise required to bring games and interactive experiences to life.

Explore the principles and practices of professional asset production while gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and game engines, supported by practical studio-based learning, theory, and critical discussion.

You’ll operate in team-based studio environments, using agile project management methodologies to deliver projects of increasing scope and complexity. Collaborate with game programming students on cross-disciplinary briefs, sharpening your communication, problem-solving and teamwork capabilities.

Beyond advanced design and production skills, you’ll cultivate commercial awareness, leadership capacity and a clear understanding of promotion, marketing and the business realities of game development.
